Setting Up Alternate, Reconditioned, and Optional OEM Parts Usage

This feature allows you to set up the defaults for the program to use when processing Alternate parts (e.g., Aftermarket, Optional OEM, and Reconditioned). You may not have access to all of the fields depending on your security level. Options include part selection methods, price selection, and aftermarket selection criteria. If you accessed this screen through the workfile, and not through the profile, you can view the data, but you cannot change it.

The Optional OEM section determines the terminology by which Optional OEM parts will be identified on the estimate and reports. The program defaults this field to Opt OEM. Prior to the 6.4 release, the valid values were Opt OEM and Alt OEM. The terms OEM, and Non OEM were added in the 6.4 release and higher.

Edit the claim office or repair facility profile, click on the Alternate Parts link under Estimating > Rules, select the ARO (Aftermarket, Reconditioned and Optional OEM) option in the Part Type droplist, then click on the Terminology droplist to select the terminology.
